Background and Training:
A Self-taught artist, Sue has undertaken Workshops in many art methods including Life Drawing; Print making; Abstract and Contemporary Painting; Oils, Acrylic and Watercolour. Sue felt the need to experience as many styles and types of painting before she could develop her own personal style and method.
Sue now predominantly works in oils and mixed media. She has a slightly `off-centre´ sense of humour which comes out in her work and her art always offers a story for the viewer to discover. In her work, Sue uses contemporary ideas combined with the human form to portray her message. Sue often writes a small story or poem to accompany her works, to invite the viewer to seek hidden meanings.
She has recently been working on works that represent human emotion and energy.

Living inBrisbane,Queenslandin the 1950s Sue enjoyed a loving, boisterous and busy childhood. Being the oldest 5 children when the time came, she was encouraged to undertake the obligatory “Secretarial Course” and start earning a living. Before she knew it, she was married, raising a family and building up her busy career in sales and marketing.
Always in the back of her mind was the thought that she would love to have the time to paint. Sue took a few Drawing and Painting Courses but the pace of raising a family and maintaining a career never allowed the time.
In 2003 Sue decided that the time for her passion had come and started winding up her career. In 2005 Sue commenced painting seriously and has never felt happier.
Sue accepts commissions for work on a regular basis.
