DIETER, Liz

I was born in Canada, both of my parents were artists – my Mother, a recognized ceramic potter and my Father, a Canadian Federation of Art watercolourist. I grew up in the amazing Northern Ontario Canadian wilderness and guided by a creative family I was encouraged to express my creativity through painting and music.

I look to nature for my inspiration and ideas. I love working with acrylics, oils and watercolours. I explore my ideas on canvas, textiles such as silk painting and floorcloths as well as conventional canvases.

I have been so fortunate and studied with many inspirational mentors including Dr Ann Bamford at UTS Sydney and many mentors from Canada as well as attending numerous courses and workshops in Canada, Africa and Australia. I have had three solo exhibitions here in Queensland including two with Gold Coast Libraries,“ Look What the Tide Washed In”.

My paintings are held in private collections in Canada, South Africa, the U.K. and Australia.
